The Booted Bantam Society is delighted to invite members, breeders and keepers to its first OPEN DAY!  It will be an informal event during which attendees can discuss Booted and Rumpless Booted Bantams and get to know each other.  Sessions, talks and activities will include:

 

§  Fault finding – what to look for and what to avoid

§  Selective breeding & mating birds up

§  Try your hand at judging a class

§  Show preparation demonstration

§  Demonstration of Chartley Chucks incubation, hatching & brooding programme

§  Tour of a range of other breed pens

§  BBQ lunch will provided, including vegetarian options

§  Raffle & fundraising

Chartley Chucks’ on-site birds will be used for the day and the event will be run strictly in line with the Defra and APHA guidelines in force at the time.  Attendees will be required to comply with these guidelines and biosecurity rules, and should come equipped with wellington boots as disinfectant footbaths are in operation.  If Defra advice/guidance changes prior to the event we will update attendees prior to the day.
